This elaborate necklace is from our collection of Zuni Pueblo Native American jewelry and handmade in sterling silver. It is an inlay style pendant with Laboratory Opal.
Zuni Pueblo jewelers are well known for their exacting lapidary work that celebrates the stones and shells in mosaic designs. Stone setting techniques include cluster work, needlepoint, channel and mosaic inlay. Silver was introduced in their jewelry style around the 1870βs, after silversmith work was learned from Navajos. Turquoise, mother of pearl, spiny oyster shells, lapis, coral, onyx and man-made opal are some of the materials used in the outstanding Zuni jewelry. Zuni Pueblo is located in New Mexico near the Arizona border.
You can wear this statement necklace on its own, or as a set with the matching earrings, as shown in the photos. Earrings are sold separately and priced at $179; please contact us if you are interested in purchasing the matching set at a special rate! Ask us for any other questions about our jewelry.
